SLAEAJ Workshop 2014.

The Sri Lanka Automobile Exporters Association held workshop meeting at the Sri Lanka Embassy premises in 29th of November 2014. As their final event for this year, it was held to share the best practices among the SLAEAJ members to handle the vehicle exporting business in a collaborative way and find out how SLAEAJ can support for matters would occur in their business.

According to the agenda Mr. Mohamed Ali the secretary of SLAEAJ was warmly welcomed all the participants. Further to that on behalf of the Sri Lanka Embassy of Japan Mr. Premarathne had delivered his speech and emphasize how important this sort of educational program to reveal the current milestones in the vehicle exporting industry and how to faced as unity other than the dividend individual manner.

 

 

 

 

 

After Mr. Premarathne’s speech each SLAEAJ members had presented their presentations. During their speech sessions they had presented very severe problems they have undergone throughout the last year including some Sri Lankan bankers’ LC compliances and discrepancies are being made during the submission, Spare Parts permits issued by the Sri Lankan government and low cost container vanning solutions implemented by ADC Company.

Further to the session one after the tea break they moved to the session two, it began after the introduction speech delivered by Mr. Jagath Ramanayake the president of SLAEAJ and he explained special activities they have done through the association with the help of all the well wishers.

Special educational presentations were presented especially in fields of spare parts, shipping, vehicle inspections and automobile insurance.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Finally chief guest of the occasion Admiral [Rtd.] Wasantha Karannagoda the Ambassador stated his regards to the Sri Lanka Automobile Exporters Association for the commitment has made to organize this special workshop as the second consecutive time, that enrich with such impressive information to members of the association and he further stated this would be truly benefited to their own company and their activities to be planned in near future.

Treasurer of the Sri Lanka Automobile Exporters Association Mr. Saman Priyankara was delivered his vote of thanks speech to appreciate all the members’ commitment to make this year event a success.

Inter House Badminton Awards Giving ceremony 2014, Nalanda Collage, Colombo.

Nalanda Collage Colombo held the Inter House Badminton Awards Giving ceremony on Oct 25, 2014. Mr. Jagath Ramanayake was invited as the chief guest at his school event.

Sri Lankan Festival 2014.

The 11th Annual Sri Lanka Festival was held at “Stone and Light Square, East Promnard, Symbol Promnard Park, 3-Chome, Ariake, Koto-ku, Tokyo 135-0063” on 27th and 28th of September 2014 from 10.00 am to 7.00 pm. The Festival was organized at this new venue, because of the dedication of the Sri Lanka Embassy in Tokyo even though interference they faced due to dengue threat at the Yoyogi Park.

SLAEAJ Japan Cup Cricket Festival 2014.

Sri Lanka Automobile Exporters Association organized a cricket tournament on the 29th June 2014 at Edogawa Riverside ground in Tokyo. This was held with the blessing of his Excellency Admiral [Rtd.] Wasantha Karannagoda, the ambassador of Sri Lanka in Japan. And the invited guest was Mr. Roshan Mahanama who made a huge contribution to Sri Lankan cricket to win the Cricket world cup in 1996. The event was organized with the valuable assistance of Sri Lankan Associations and the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Japan.

3rd International Conference on “Challenges of Development in the 21st Century: Asian Perspectives”.

The Association of Sri Lankan Academics in Japan (SLAc) together with the Sri Lanka Embassy in Tokyo organized its 3rd International Conference on “Challenges of Development in the 21st Century: Asian Perspectives”.

17th Annual General Meeting of JUMVEA (Japan Used Motor Vehicles Exporters Association, Tokyo, Japan) held on 28th May, 2014 at Tokyo Dome Hotel to elect new Board of Directors for next one year and announce last one year achievements.

SLAEAJ Activity Promotion and Membership Drive Oyama 2014.

Sri Lanka Automobile Exporters Association in Japan(SLAEAJ) was held their second regional meeting and promotional conference at Oyama Grand Hotel on 23rd May 2014. It was started with the introduction of the participants from Tokyo and Oyama.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Brief welcome speech was made by Mr. Anura Batuwatta the coordinator of the Oyama event and he pointed out how important this commitment is. And he did not forget to thank H.E the Ambassador Mr. Wasantha Karannagoda of the Sri Lankan Embassy in Japan, and the other embassy staff for giving us the support and also providing an opportunity to extend our activities throughout Japan.

Afterwards, SLAEAJ president Mr. Jagath Ramanayake was presented the activities carried out by the SLAEAJ during the year 2012/2014. Presentation was focused on all major activities done by SLAEJ during previous years such as Cricket Festival, Sri Lankan Festival Raffle draw, Non-Medicament Healer event, Motor Delegation Tour in Japan and Membership Drive in Nagoya…etc.

Mr. Jayantha Bandara the first secretary of the Sri Lanka Embassy made his speech and he pointed out SLAEAJ members’ aspiration and strong mind to promote SLAEAJ activities in Tochigi prefecture will open the door to the new possibilities for their operations in Japan. Further, he emphasized the importance and the opportunities lied through these common interest organizations like SLAEAJ and the impact they can do for any issue to serve the best interest of the automobile export business especially for Sri Lanka business people.

Treasurer of SLAEAJ Mr. Saman Priyankara was emphasized and explained about the benefits anyone can receive being a member of the association. Furthermore, he has pointed out being together as business community we can avoid dangerous risk with dealing with some customers sharing their experience among members.

As the next item, Executive secretary of SLAEAJ Mr. Mohamed Ali has explained some exports markets which are rising well these days to the audience. And how they can act to serve the common interests against the blooming industrial issues and share our knowledge among members.

Following that, Mr. Jithendra Samarawickrama explained the SLAEAJ cricket tournament going to be held in 29th June 2014.

And Mr. Wasantha Ekanayake also pointed out how important this social gathering is and how to improve the mutual relations through welfare activities among our members.

Mr. Lasantha Nandasiri the Vice president of the SLAEAJ made his speech regarding the spare parts business in Automobile industry and pointed out the barriers and limitations in spare parts exports. And methodologies could follow to overcome those issues.

Mr. Bansal from Japanesecartrade.com was presented their IT solutions for automobile business and it was a new experience to them as most of them not aware of the IT aspects of the business and how it can affect the profit margin of their own.

After that Q & A session was started and many of the participants were pointed out their questions in the current business. Mr. Jagath Ramanayake & Mr. Nishantha Meegalla explained guidance and information to them to sort out the issues.

Finally, Mr. Nishantha Meegalla & Mr. Jayantha Hettiarachchi made their speech thanking all who did tremendous commitment to make this event a success.

After the conference, Dinner was served at the hotel. All participants were enjoyed and shared their business experience with others.

Following day, SLAEAJ members were visited Arai Auto Auction as arranged by Arai Auction manager Mr. Yoshiyuki Otake, and they received thorough knowledge about the auction process and new trends.

 

Vehicle Importers Association of Lanka held their general meeting in Colombo.

Vehicle Importers Association of Lanka was held their annual general meeting in Hilton hotel Colombo at March 28th 2014. Deputy Minister Mr. Rohana Dissanayake was participated as the chef gust of the ceremony. Business forum was held while focusing on how local automobile dealers and delegations can connect and play an active role in the sustainable development of used vehicle automobile industry.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sri Lanka Automobile Exporters Association was also engaged with the ceremony as the well known organization in the motor vehicle industry in Japan as the bridge between Japan and Sri Lanka while introducing delegation parties from JUMVEA (Japan Used Motor Vehicle Exporter Association) and Japan inspection companies especially from JEVIC, JAAI, and BUREAU VERITAS.

The function was lead to strengthen the business relationship and communication between Japan delegation and the members of the VIAL association. Further,  president of SLAEAJ Mr. Jagath Ramanayake was emphasized the importance of the association and the outcome they have been achieved since from the beginning.

Mr.Jagath Ramanayake participated SLAEAJ promotional conference in Nagoya.

SLAEAJ was held first regional meeting and promotional conference in Nagoya 8th March 2014. It was started with the introduction of the participants from Tokyo and Nagoya. Nagoya exporters introduction was conducted by Mr. Nishantha Meegalla as the Executive Committee Member for Aichi Prefecture of SLAEAJ. And Mr. Umar Ali Vice Secretary of SLAEAJ was introduced Tokyo participants. Brief welcome speech was made by Mr. Wasantha Ekanayake the Trip coordinator for Nagoya event and pointed out how important this commitment.

As the next item, Mr. Saman Priyankara has explained some export markets which are rising well these days to the audience. Furthermore, he has explained the joining procedure of the SLAEAJ. Following them, Mr. Anura Battuwatta explained what benefits that the SLAEAJ members can get from the government. Finally the Mr. Cecil Perera explained the SLAEAJ cricket tournament going to be held in this June 2014.

Mr. M.P.S Aberathna from Department of Inland Revenue was introduced by Mr. Meegalla to the meeting and Q and A speech made by him was highly attractive because many participants had questions in field of taxation.
